Oakmont Downs community consists of 347 homes built on 70 acres of land. Centex built the homes between about 1993 to 2000. The homes, when new, were priced from about $120,000 to $250,000 and consist of both one and two story homes. The community is bordered on the north and west by DeZavala Road and on the south and east by the Tanglewood Community. The north entrance is at the intersection of DeZavala Road and Stable Oaks, about a mile west of IH 10, and the west entrance is at the intersection of DeZavala Road and Stable Trail. The community is about two miles inside the intersection of IH 10 West and Loop 1604 West. The community is also located a few miles south of the University of Texas San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas
