Our office has been notified that Civil Engineering Consultants, Inc. has re-applied for a zoning request change to allow multi-family development at 5600 and 5800 block of UTSA Blvd. Zoning case Z2010088 is scheduled to be heard April 20, 2010 at 1:00pm at the Cliff Morton Development and Business Service Center located at 1901 S. Alamo St. Board Room. I have attached a PDF copy of the Zoning application below to reference. What I ask of you all as Presidents of your HOA/ NA, and Community Leaders is that you all pls. notify your residents of this zoning request change, and have your residents write letters concerning this change. I would appreciate if you all would be the point of contact with in your respective HOA/NA's and forward the letters to me. Pls. also express that having the presence of the community at the hearing does make a difference, and further expresses all concerns to the Zoning Commission. I would like to point out that we had no resident attendance when this issue came before the Zoning Commission Board, in which the request was approved by the Zoning Commission January 8, 2010. The applicants later withdrew there application requesting a rezoning from "R-6 MLOD" to "MF-33 MLOD pursuant to Sec. 35-421 of the Unified Development Code. The zoning item (Z-11) did not come before Council consideration January 21, 2010 which was a great victory for District 8 area residents. Past concerns I.E.: The Traffic infrastructure along UTSA, Babcock and Hausman cannot sustain increased traffic, Crime, 27 Apartment Complexes within a 2 mile radius of UTSA, Over development of Apartment Complexes in this area will negatively impact existing home values, Littering on UTSA Blvd from existing Multi-family housing. Pls. continue to use Bcc to keep all residents emails private, and to avoid exposing emails to solicitors. |
